Excalibur Las Vegas Hotel

One look at any resort along the Las Vegas Strip can tell you one thing – this city was built on themes. From Venetian flair to Roman history, each hotel that decorates Las Vegas Boulevard was built with some theme in mind. If there were just one resort that wore that theme on the inside and out, it would be the Excalibur. This west-end hotel resort takes on the look and feel of a medieval castle, complete with the stereotypical pointed towers and bright white paintjob. At night, these design choices and a bright up lighting give Excalibur a mystical look that one would expect out of such a fantastical building.

Though the interior and exterior designs of this extravagant hotel resort reads as a castle pulled from medieval times, the amenities are all but historic. The three styles of guest rooms are chock full of the highest quality of modern comforts, ranging from pillow top mattresses to flat screen televisions. Guest Suites are a step up from the basic rooms and come in the Spa and Parlor varieties. Spa Suites come with a two person spa room, bringing the best of Las Vegas luxury right to your room. The Parlor Suite upgrades the Spa Suite to include separate living and dining areas and an in-room refrigerator.

When it comes to entertainment, the Excalibur pulls no punches. Rounding off the top of this resort’s entertainment is the much talked about Thunder from Down Under. Meant strictly for adults, the Australian male revue mixes a healthy dosage of hunky men with the quality of a Broadway musical. If your flavor is a little more “excitement” oriented, then be sure to reserve a seat at the Tournament of Kings. Pick a knight to cheer for through a game of jousting and enjoy the dancing of fair maidens while you divulge in a feast fit for a king. When your wallet starts to get a bit heavy you can find some enjoyment in the Castle Walk. This stretch of shopping boutiques and small eateries is the perfect location to drop some extra cash on souvenirs and designer clothing. When you start craving a little time in the sun, guests can easily step outside to the Excalibur’s pool and soak in those desert rays.

As your stay in Excalibur goes on, your appetite is bound to grow with it. The wafting scents of the numerous types of food establishments will eventually reach you, and you’ll be left with no choice but to divulge. Of Excalibur’s most notable establishments is Dick’s Last Resort, a restaurant that certainly stays true to the name. Waiters and waitresses pull no punches when it comes to humiliating and berating guests – of course all is meant to be taken in jest. Excalibur is also home to the newly opened Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ and Beer, which is a straight forward BBQ joint with a little flair of the south.

The Excalibur Hotel and Resort is the physical manifestation of that little playful aspect that Sin City hides beneath its sexually charged exterior. The mystical look and feel of the location is the perfect example of the showmanship that Las Vegas can produce, and it achieves this without loosing that luxury feel.
