Las Vegas is known for being one of the biggest party cities in the nation, and it’s probably true that New Orleans is close behind. With the opening of The Orleans Hotel and Casino in 1996, the city of Las Vegas successfully combined that uninhibited Mardi Gras flair with the “No Rules” attitude of Sin City. Nestled right off the strip on Tropicana Avenue, The Orleans Hotel brings the old feel of the French Quarters to a new establishment right in the middle of the Nevada desert. Any guest that stays at The Orleans Hotel has a selection of varying rooms to choose from to call home. The most basic of options, just like any other hotel, is a two room set-up. A king or queen bed that offers the highest end of comfort is complimented by contemporary furniture that includes a desk, a small table, and nightstands. The bathroom attached bathroom is no more then what’s expected from your standard room. A grade up from the standard rooms is an array of suites. The smallest of these elegant overnight rooms is the Executive Suite. At 900 sq ft, the Executive separates the living and bedroom areas and includes a wet bar and refrigerator and a flat screen TV in both rooms. The Louisiana Suite comes in at 1,350 sq ft and mimics the Executive Suite, differing only in the attached second bedroom. The 1,800 sq ft New Orleans Suite is your ticket to Las Vegas luxury with an in-suite Jacuzzi tub and contemporary marble finished fireplace. Plush leather furniture offers the perfect vantage points to watch the sun set over the Las Vegas Valley. Upgraded from the New Orleans Suite is the Presidential Suite, which tacks on an extra bedroom, bathroom, and 700 sq ft to the New Orleans Suite. Though you may not get that old New Orleans feel from the luxury rooms within the hotel, you certainly will when you start checking out your dining options. That Creole and Cajun flair finally strikes Sin City when you get your hands on the menus at such places like Canal Street, Big Al’s Oyster Bar, and Courtyard Café. The French Market Buffet, Coasta Cantina, The Prime Rib Loft, and Koji Sushi Bar and China Bistro may detach a little bit from the Big Easy, but they still offer a succulent array of foods and beverages, making them worthy of a visit. Any guest that stays within The Orleans Hotel will be granted access to the property’s resort pool. A line of palm trees provide shade for this area of comfort, providing some shelter from the brutal desert sun. Cabanas are available to rent and amplify the poolside experience with included mini-bars and comfortable seating arrangements. Once you’ve soaked in your required rays, feel free to take part in any of The Orleans’ many entertaining venues. The Bourbon Street Cabaret offers a lounge-like atmosphere complete with live entertainment while The Orleans’ Showroom and Orleans’ Arena act as the stage for larger performances and sporting events. Kids can find pleasure in the Bowling Center, Time Out Arcade, and 18-screen Cineplex. While you may come to Vegas to get a taste of what the desert has to offer, it’s difficult to stay away from the many themes that make up the city. If you’re going to be spending any time in the mock-up of a city, you might as well pick one that holds the closest semblance of morals that Sin City has - At The Orleans, you’ll get that mixture of Sin City and Big Easy partying.
